July 24-Beach Cleanup followed by a “Sunset Social.” 6:00 pm at Gilgo Beach.
This is an excellent opportunity for new members to come out
and clean up the mess left by savage beachgoers while meeting and
bonding with fellow ocean enthusiasts.
Light refreshments will be available, but feel free to bring more.
Katie will be bringing her famous chocolate chip cookies.
Friends and family are welcome!
***please note the new time of 6:00 pm as opposed to the originally
posted 4:00 pm***
I’ve been asked to pass this along.
Mark Smith, a long time Surfrider member (and all-around great guy)
Due to success of previous camps, Land and Sea Sports club will be
holding a surf-camp for kids with autism EVERY Sunday at Gilgo.
They could use the help since they are expecting about 20 surfers. The
camp begins at 9:00 am but it would be great if volunteers met by 8:00
am. Mark will be your contact.
Keep in mind that large surf will cancel this surf-camp. But then
again, if there is large surf, is it really a bad thing that you came
down to the beach?
See you Saturday and Sunday!
