Protect Plastic Ordinance St. Pete

VICTORY: The City Council voted to uphold the St. Petersburg Ordinance 356-H limiting single use plastic and polystyrene without review or repeal.

The Suncoast chapter urges the St. Petersburg city council to uphold ordinance 356-H, passed in 2020, restricting single-use plastics and polystyrene (styrofoam). Single-use plastic and styrofoam have long been a huge source of pollution, finding their way into our ecosystems where they can affect wildlife, local economies and even our well-being. Repealing or amending this ordinance would be a step backwards in protecting our environment and health.
