Horsley To Host Rally To Save Our Parks

Rally at Heckscher State Park to Show Support for NYS Parkland

Lindenhurst, NYCounty Legislator Wayne Horsley moved by media reports of impending New York State Park closures has organized a rally to stop the Governor’s disastrous plan. News sources claim one hundred parks could be closed statewide.

Horsley states “As a former employee, who spent 19 years working for the New York State Parks Department I know first hand the jobs and joy State parks create for Long Island and all New York State residents. The parks provide affordable family fun such as hiking, running, and fishing to name a few of the countless activities our park system provides our residents. In an economy where families are looking to save money wherever they can the ability to enjoy New York’s natural beauty is invaluable. This plan would destroy that ability and devastate our environment, tourism, and economy.”
